    Default Payment Plan for Arrears

My question involves child support in the State of: new york

my boyfriend probably owes arrears to his ex-wife because, as we've recently learned the hard way, verbal agreements are meaningless. will he be able to set up a payment plan to pay the arrears? can he make an agreement with the court to add a certain amount to his regular support payments? he can afford to pay only about $100/month on top of the regular support payments. do courts accept such arrangements?

Default Re: Payment Plan for Arrears

Courts will generally have parents pay off arrearages by adding an amount to each current support payment. The approach a court may take and the amount that might be added will depend upon the full facts.
