My question involves a careless driving ticket from the State of: New Jersey
I took a wrong turn on a one-way street by mistake. I realized my mistake and turned onto a side street so I could get off the one-way street. A cop was behind me as soon as I took the turn on the side street. I was given five tickets :-
1. Wrong way on one way street (required court appearance)
2. Failure to stop - he claimed that I did not stop before turning on the one-way street. I'm sure I did.
3. Failure to signal - he claimed that I did not signal before turning on the one-way street. I did not signal.
4. Driving on private property to avoid a signal or traffic - He claimed that I was in fact taking a short-cut by driving onto the side street. I turned onto the side street so that me and the cop do not have to stand on the one-way street while he's giving me the ticket.
5. Careless driving.
This happened in broad daylight. Any ideas what could I use to contest these tickets. Should I go with an attorney to contest the tickets. Any help is much appreciated.
Thx
