Angry Suspended License for Unpaid Fines

My question involves a driver's license issued by the State of: California

I am a Ventura County, California resident. I have run a foul of the trafffic/ criminal court with minor driving issues; driving on suspended license 3 or 4 times now, and other driving infractions in LA County, Ventura Cty and Kern Cty.

I have nearly $6,500.00 in traffic fines that are now locked into the collections process that block my ability to get a drivers license. I am a self employed nursery person ( I sell fruit trees and roses) and have to drive, so if I get pulled over it just adds another ticket to the mix and only compounds the problems.

The CA law seems to make it totally impossible for me to get license at this point since the law seems to allow for only the payment of full of fines to the collection agency prior to the DMV lifting the suspension on my license. Are there any remedies to this? Moving out of State? Bankruptcy? I am not going to give this corrupt State $6500.00 or more for tickets that were about 1/3 of that 18 to 12 to months ago.

The solution is to pay off your fines.

To add to the correct post above, these types of fines usually survive a bankruptcy.

    Tickets do accrue interest.

You should also consider that imprisonment for failure to pay is certainly possible, right?

    Okay.

You also can lose vehicles - PERMANENTLY. You can also go to jail. In fact, with all of those priors, if I stopped you, you WOULD go to jail.

The remedies are paying off the fines. In some instances you might be able to go back to the court and take care of it there to avoid collections, but in others it is probably too late to avoid the huge penalties for collections.

How is the STATE "corrupt" when it is YOU that knowingly and intentionally disobeyed the law and then ignored the penalties imposed by the courts?? You do understand that this is a situation you have brought upon yourself, correct?

Moving will NOT make this go away. In fact, you will not be able to get a license in another state, either.

Your next stop may result in jail time. Just hope that you do not get stopped in your work truck or you could lose that truck to the state - at least for 30 days (and a cost of more than $2,0000 more than likely). How will THAT hurt your business?
