Default Would this be considered abandonment?

I have posted before about my issues, but I have another question. My husband is in Iraq, will be home on August 10th. His ex leaves for Officer Training School on August 11th, and will be based in Florida immediately after that. Ex has not notified my husband what her intentions are as far as placement of their daughter. My husband believes that he intends to just leave her with a relative for the school year, or else have her start school, and then have her move to Florida, both of which my husband is opposed to. My question is, when she leaves in August for her schooling (which is 5 weeks), if she leaves the child with a relative, is that considered abandonment? Divorce is in Wisconsin, and legal custody is joint.

Leaving a child with a suitable adult relative while you perform your military service would not be considered abandonment.

She is moving to Florida permanently. She is not going overseas, she is just going active duty, permanently, with the military. So she can just leave his daughter with a relative until the child is 18, and my husband can have no say into it? He does not agree with her going to a relative. He wants her placed with us.

I think the father's options have already been discussed in your other two threads, Ex Moving Out of State and Placement Issue.
