Default Nephew Wants to Live With Me

My 15 yr old nephew lives in NC and wants to move in with my family in Missouri so that he can attend school with my son. What needs to be done legally for this temporary arrangement so that he can enroll in school and get medical tx when needed.

You can check with the school to see what they require to enroll your nephew without the payment of tuition. They would likely allow you to enroll him based upon a power of attorney, but would likely charge tuition unless you're appointed guardian by a court. You can get a power of attorney to authorize medical treatment, but if you're hoping to add him to your insurance you'll have to see what is required by your insurance policy - I expect that to add him as a dependent they'll want you to be a legal guardian.
