Question How to Ask for Traffic School Without Going to Court (>25mph Over Speed Limit)

My question involves a speeding ticket from the State of: CA

    Hi,

I got a speeding ticket on I-5 in Northern California. Was pulled over and told an aircraft clocked me at 94 in a 65. While I might have been speeding in the low 80mph range, there's no way in heck I was going 94. I get motion sick just going 90.

Anyways, I have a clean driving record and just assume save the time and do traffic school. I'm not automatically eligible since I was ticketed for going >25mph over the limit.

I haven't gotten the courtesy notice yet so I haven't pled guilty/not-guilty. Is there any way to avoid going to court and just ask for traffic school? The courthouse is 4.5 hours away from where I live.

    Thank you!

The standard rule is you lose your automatic eligibility for traffic school fo any speeding violation where your speed was in excess of 25mph over the limit at which point in time, you'd have to appear in court to request it from the judge. Some courts have a slightly different policy than that. So no one here is going to be able to give you a difinitive answer. You'll have to contact the coourt, speak to the clerk and inquuire about that court's policy in that regards.
I am right 97% of the time... Who cares about the other 4%!
