Does Ohio Department of Motor Vehicles Make Sure Car Insurance is Valid

Just a question was curious about, when you have to send in your proof of insurance to the department of motor vehicles from a ticket that said you didn't provide insurance to the cop when got pulled over, does anyone know if the people at the OH BMV go through all of the trouble to check every insurance policy and every insurance card they receive or do they just assume what everyone sends in is legitimate?

By the way thank you to everyone who takes the time to read and answer threads and thank you for having a forum like this for people to get answers to very serious questions that is hard or costly to get anywhere else!

This isn't the "how do I break the law forum." If your insurance was valid at the time, send in the proof. If your insurance was not valid, sending in fraudulent documents will just end up causing more problems. If your card was for a policy that had been CANCELLED, you can be pretty much assured they'll catch it. The reason they give you the chance to ask for proof is by chance you obtained a different policy.
