Default Removing Class B Misdemeanor from Recored

My question involves a background check in the State of: Texas

I have a theft by check (class b misdemeanor) on my recored from 2005 (6 years back) and need to know what my options are on having this removed to pass 7 year background check for preemployment.. The actual charges are from 2003 (7 years back) Any information on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

At the least, you ought to look up the criminal statutes. Those will tell you what your options are concerning having the record sealed or expunged (if possible). A commercial background check might not pick up a sealed or expunged record, but a check run through the Texas DPS and/or FBI certainly will.
