unless the sale was contingent on the dealer obtaining financing, the deal is not void. What the dealer wants is money so if you can find your own financing, I am sure they would be more than glad to continue on with the sale.
So, if they have already sold your trade in, when you return the new car, they would have to refund you the money they allowed for your trade.
