    Default Public Indecency Charges

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Ohio
I was charged for this today, maximum penalty is 30 days $250 fine. This being a first offense for a 40yr old what would I expect the charge if I plead guilty or if i plead no contest.

    thanks

The court is not necessarily legally bound to accept a no contest plea.

The penalties you describe are for a Misdemeanor of the 4th degree. Although my research shows it is not a crime which upon conviction requires sexual offender registry, pleading out right guilty for such a crime of head turning requires thought.

You are entitled to #1, a jury trial if you plead not guilty, and # 2, an attorney if you can not afford one.

Best course of direction, plead not guilty and request a public defender. He or she can negotiate a possible plea bargain where a crime of such as PI is not on record.

Public Indecency is one of those charges that will defiantly follow you around for life. It can cause many employers to pass you over. Follow BOR's suggestions and good luck.
I am not an attorney, I'm just the next worst thing.
