Default Effect of a Commitment Ceremony On Survivor's Benefits

My question involves marriage law for the State of: Idaho

I am receiving social security survivors benefits as I am raising my late husbands child. My question is: Can I have a commitment ceremony in a church with my new boyfriend without losing my benefits. I dont want a marriage certificate i just want us to be recognized in the church. I dont want to lose my benefits. I know that if I legally get married with the license and all I will lose my benefits. What should or can I do?

    Default Re: On Survivor's Benefits

A commitment ceremony is not legally binding, is not the same as a legal marriage, and will have no bearing on your benefits.
