My question involves criminal law for the state of: California
When A Judge Sends Someone To Prison Do They Have To Choose A Facility Within The State?
Why do you ask?
A state judge is going to send the convict to the CDCR who will send the inmate to a facility of their choosing that adheres to the guidelines and laws set out for them to operate under. With rare exceptions those will be in CA. I do not think we commonly send inmates out of state absent some serious secondary considerations.

I ask because I'm about to have someone get served and was planning on making a request for the location of their new home. I wanted to know if I should research facilities within the state or go nationwide.
