Can Somebody in OPT Status Get a Visa for a Spouse

Hi

I m working on OPT on right now. My first year of OPT Will expire in Jan 2012. I am going to apply 17 month OPT Ext by Jan 2012. Also My F1 visa Will expire in Jun 2013. I am planning going to India after Jan 2012 to marry.
Also I have in my mind about bringing my wife to US.

I am not able to decide What Visa shall I apply for my wife F4 or F2.

1. Will US consulate consider my Visa or OPT Ext I-20. Is there any risk in it. How should i prepare for it ..I mean what are all the documents my wife would need to support her visa ? and what document i need to provide her ?



Can you please help me !!!!! I am so tensed from Visa rejection going on these days and risking my Career by going to my country.

She is qualified for F2.

Your visa is only for entry. Only if you have valid documentation for your OPT extension in hand and a job are you qualified for re-entry no matter what the visa expiration date. You may not have exceeded your unemployment time. Your time outside the US on your trip will count towards your 90/120 days of permitted unemployment on OPT.
