First Offense Petty Theft at Walmart in Florida and Im Over 18

My question involves criminal law for the state of: florida



Im 18 years old and I was caught stealing $30 dollars worth of stuff at walmart.

My court date is in a month and I have absolutly no idea what to do or say.
I dont think I can afford lawyer , but Im not sure if i would even need one.

I know a lawyer would help and speak for me in court but I dont have money for one.

Plead Not Guilty. Ask for a Public Defender (unless you can afford a private lawyer).

Pleading not guilty does not mean that you are saying you didn't do what you are accused of. It means that you are standing on your Constitutional right to be proven guilty in a court of law.
