Automobile Accident Resulting in Wrongful Death

My question involves an injury that occurred in the state of: VA
one week back, My wife made accident. there are couple of old people in the other party car. till now everything is ok,she contacted attorny and insurance people, Yesterday insurance guy called her says one of the two people is died in the hospital. she called theattorny. he siad this is gonna be serious case. one more thing she has only liability insurance on her car . i need some help b'cuz,I don't know wats gonna happen after. can this be settled ?. this is the first time in both of our lifes. we have hearing next month

In an accident like this involving injuries, the most important insurance to have is liability insurance. So that part is good.

How is your wife at fault for the accident, what happened?

What are you insured for, state minimum, 15/30/25, 100/300/50, 1,000,000/3,000,000/1,000,000?

You can expect to be sued far beyond your insurance policy if you have anything under 1,000,000, if your wife is at fault. I don't think a settlement would be in your future if you have anything less then $1,000,000 in coverage.

Liability or comprehensive and collision only will help you with your cars damage. If your wife is at fault and you just have liability then you will have to pay to get your car fixed yourself. If you had comp and collision, then your insurance company would pay to fix the car, regardless of fault.
