Default How to Transfer Title from Deceased Father, No Will

My question involves estate proceedings in the state of: North Carolina, the state of NC required insurance and my daughter needs her vehicle that she has had for 5 years titled to her to get insurance... her father passed away leaving no will and wife does not want anything to do with the vehicle. Estate atty says there is nothing we can do... it will be months before paper work is completed regarding his estate... she needs to do something now! What can we do?

If all heirs agree and the estate retains enough assets to cover its obligations, it may be possible for the attorney to get the court to agree to an early distribution for the car.
