My question involves traffic court in the State of: CA

I was pulled over a month ago for holding a cell phone. I had it in my hand and was about to make a call but wasn't actually talking. Anyway, I'm pretty sure I should just plead guilty since it would be hard to contest, but my question is if I go to court and plead guilty, is it just a fine or do I have to go to traffic school/will I get a point? It is my first offense (however, 13 months ago I got a speeding ticket, did online traffic school and got it dismissed).

23123(a) is a zero point violation and as such, it does not qualify for dismissal via traffic school. The penalty for a guilty plea or a conviction is limited to the fine which should run you approximately $155.
