Assuming you were cited for VC 22348(b), you will have a mandatory court appearance. So yes, you'll have to appear in Barstow.
- A fine of anywhere between $875 and $2075
- License suspension of up to 30 days
- 2 violation points on your record (which will remain on there for 3 years from the date of the violation).
Assuming that by CDL you mean a Commercial Drivers License (as opposed to a California Drivers License) and depending on the type of vehicle you were driving at the time, the 2 points I mentioned above might turn into 3 points. The "up to 30 day" suspension would still apply. And before you ask, I am not aware of any provisions that would allow for a restricted license (to/from work) during the period of suspension. So if you rely on your license for work, it maybe time to start planning some vacation time!
22348(b) is not eligible for traffic school (even if it were, and assuming you have a Commercial DL, you aren't eligible anyways). So if convicted, you're stuck with the points on your record.
Nothing good, I bet. But really, who knows!!!

I am not in the legal field.
But Holding a Commercial Drivers licence you are listed as being a Professonal Driver so there fore be preapared for a charge of careless driving.
In most states that is 6 points on your license.
Seek a Traffic Attorney
OP has already been charged with speeding. The judge cannot add any additional charges nor amend the existing one and the officer has already cited him (not likely to add any additional charges). Also, there is no "careless driving" statute in California.
I do agree (to a degree) with the attorney recommendation.

Atty for sure. Spend the $2000...get a good one. If you delay you lose options.
