My question involves real estate located in the State of: Kentucky.
Who is responsible for Condominium Owner Association dues, life tenant or remaindermen.
My father has a life estate in his condo, the 2 daughters and my father are both on the deed.
My father pays the mortgage.
Who is responsible for the COA (Condominium Owner Association) dues?
The by-laws of the COA say the ‘owner’ is responsible.
I haven’t found any authority (statute, case law, etc.) that stated that remaindermen (holder of the interest that follows a life estate) have a responsibility to pay condo fees.
I would think that either the 2 daughters were responsible or the it would be a third each.
Also pertaining to the above, who is responsible for the property taxes?
