Fighting a Speeding Ticket in the State of Nevada

My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Nevada

Hello,
I was officially clocked (laser) going 76mph in a 65mph freeway. I had my car on cruise control for 73-74mph. Hit a stretch where the car was going downhill, and the officer was sitting at the bottom of the hill. He claimed that I hit 83 at one point, but officially clocked me at 76.

What is the best way to fight this? Are there any significant difference between fighting speeding tickets in Nevada then California? What are the chances of me having to go to court in Nevada?

Have not received a speeding ticket in over 7 years (first and only), so clean record. Do not know if that helps.

The best way to fight a ticket in which you admit that you were speeding and suggest that the clocked speed appears to be correct? I guess, then, you would try to obtain records pertaining to the use and maintenance of the laser device, and the officer's training in the use of that device. You have an uphill battle.

Nevada tickets are fought in Nevada courts under Nevada's laws and court procedures. California tickets are fought in California courts under California's laws and court procedures. I am not aware of any state that puts as many hurdles in front of a prosecutor handling a traffic ticket as does California.

If the ticket requires you to appear in court, or if you schedule a hearing on the ticket, you should expect to appear in court. Depending upon the court's policies, it may be possible to retain a lawyer to appear for you to work out a resolution, but you would have to appear at a hearing to contest the ticket.
