Default Do You Have to Complete Service if Paid With a Bad Check

My question involves business law in the state of: alabama
a client signed our contract, paid half of the amount owed for us to service her event and the day of the event, she paid the remaining balance with a check that went to an account she had already closed. Is my business still obligated to fulfill our part of the contract?

    Default Re: Bad Check

Wherever you are at in the service you should stop and demand payment. If the service is completed then you'll need to file suit to obtain the deliquent funds. The client cannot demand that you fulfill the contract when she has not paid. If she wrote the check on a closed account in may fall in the realm of criminal conduct, so a trip to the police department may be in order.
