    Default Co-guardianship for sisters

I live in Texas and my younger sister is coming to live with me since my mom is going to Europe and my sister wants to finish school here in Texas. I would like to get co-guardianship along with my mother (is this possible?) so that I will be able to enroll my sister in school and address any other needs she may have while my mother is out of the states. How do I go about doing this? Since my mother does not have any issues with this is there some sort of form we can get notarized instead of going to court?

Any help on how to get started would be appreciated as school enrollment is only 3 weeks away.

    Thanks!

Check with the school to see if they offer a guardianship form you could use. You can also have one drafted by a local lawyer.

You don't need a "co-guardianship" - you need a guardianship. Your mother is already the child's natural guardian. A guardianship of this type is normally made revocable at will by the parent.
