Passing Within 100 Feet of an Intersection

My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Texas

I was recently cited for "passing within 100 feet of an intersection". I cannot find anywhere in the texas transportation code where it explicitly says that. A search for "100 feet" yields only the following two mildly irrelevant sections:

Sec. 545.056. DRIVING TO LEFT OF CENTER OF ROADWAY: LIMITATIONS OTHER THAN PASSING.

Sec. 545.104. SIGNALING TURNS; USE OF TURN SIGNALS.

I don't see how either of those apply here. Is this rule somehow inferred?

What were the lane markings at that point in the road? Perhaps there are lane markings prohibiting passing during the 100 foot stretch of road at issue.

What statute or ordinance is identified on your ticket in association with this violation?

The lane markings were dashed.

I know why I was cited, the officer wanted to find something that he claimed "would stick". The reason I was stopped was for lane splitting during stopped traffic... I couldn't find anything in the transportation code that prohibits that either. He originally was going to cite me for "failure to maintain a single lane of traffic" (I don't know the code for that). Both sound kind of wishy-washy.

Might be time to lawyer up.

Could be a local ordinance.

See what the letter from the court says.... if you have $1500-l2000 for an attorney, then lawyer up...otherwise wait and see what happens
