Forgiving Arrearages

My question involves child support in the State of: Oregon

How would I go about trying to get the state to forgive or lower my Arearages owed. Or can this be done at all?

The State. I have tried to cantact them but have had no luck

I'm sorry, the State won't forgive the arrears unless there's a very compelling reason to do so. The State wants their money.

Even more specfically, they want to recoup taxpayer money that has already been shelled out to provide for the child.
