Default Former Employer Making Daily Blog Posts Using My Name

At my previous job at a TV station in Virginia I developed a specialized daily blog on the station's website. The blog title contained my name and the posts were often personal. Each entry on the blog is date stamped with my name. I left my position 6 months ago, but the company is still posting to the blog. (Which they have the right to do, since they own any material created by my while I was employed by them.) What I have a problem with is their continued use of my name in association with the Blog. The company continued to keep the same name with my likeness for about two months after I left. It has since changed to graphic on the page, but the url is the same and it is still using my name to make posts to the blog, which makes it look like I am still writing the posts. What are my rights? Specifically, can I recieve compensation for the use of my name? Thank you

Speak with a local attorney about sending a cease and desist letter to the station, demanding that they stop using your name.

Like as not, they're just too technically illiterate to fix it. A C&D should light a fire under them to get it properly sorted out.

A C&D letter is the way to go. They are committing a tort of invasion of privacy in general, and violating your right of publicity to control the use of your name and image specifically. Probably not worth a civil action as the damages would be less than the legal costs, but the station isn't going to risk a civil action over something that is not of much value to them.
