Can I Get My Money Back on Sale of Property Acquired Before Marriage

My question involves divorce in the State of: Texas

Please, read over these simplified events, and let me know your opinion.

2004 - I Purchase Residential Property
2005 - I Met Future Ex-Wife
2006 - I Married Future Ex-Wife
2007 - I sell Residential Property, and Place Money in a Joint CD. My Ex Wife files for Divorce, and takes half of the money from sale of property, roughly $22,000. No lawyers get involved in either side, it is a simple, fast process. We were officially married about 13 months (all of this from a naive Las Vegas eloping)

2011 (current date) - I read some information that perhaps her actions were illegal and/or unethical, and I'm wondering if I can get my $22,000 back through the court system, and if it's worth pursuing?

I think that's it. Any help would be appreciated, and who knows maybe I could return the favor? Thanks!

she took half the money out of a jointly owned CD, right? and you did not dispute this during your divorce? She could have taken all of the money and you would have a hard time reclaiming any of it. When you made it jointly owned, it belonged to both of you.

What did your divorce say about how the bills and assets were to be divided? Was there some statement saying that each party is to retain the property and assets in their possession?
