My question involves a speeding ticket from the State of: Washington
When I was pulled over the cop said I was doing 39 in a 35 while rounding the corner at a traffic light. I know that my speedo said I was only doing about 33 (my Civic has 10mph markers with a smaller marker in between for 5mph). This was the his "reduced speed even though I was going faster" but actual stated clocked speed. I know that he didn't have his speedo on me though because my radar detector (which he commented on after stopping me because I forgot to pull it off my dashboard) was not going off when I rounded the corner about 90 seconds after the car in front of me rounded it and I heard the detector chime. Any thoughts on how I should go about fighting this one?
In addition, he said I had improper placement of my front license plate, the exhaust is "too loud" (Have a silencer and is quieter than my stock truck and a lot quieter than my motorcycle. The judge already dismissed an earlier ticket for this, but the officer said the judge was wrong and wrote me up anyways.) and that my headlights were not white (have a slight yellow/amber tint to them). Of course I will contest and tell the judge that I have changed these to comply with the law since it is written as a first offense.
I guess that the cop just wasn't having a very good day. Thoughts and suggestions would be great.
Ryan
