Re: Multiple Errors on Speeding Ticket

I've found 3 errors on my speeding ticket since it being issued. They all are relatively minor errors and I understand that they could be corrected in court, however, I was thinking that maybe because of the amount of errors I might be able to have it lowered to a Non-moving violation and kept off my record. Here are the errors that I found:
Driver's License #, There's a 3 instead of an 8 on the 3rd digit.
License Plate, There's a D instead of a O on the 2nd digit.
My phone number, There's a 4 instead of a 7 in the number.
The first two the officer could've obviously read those off my license and registration. The last one I obviously had to give him and he copied it wrong. Are these enough to possibly go to court to see about getting it reduced? The violation was for a 58 in a 45.
More often than not, typographical errors are corrected in court and the case will proceed accordingly. The errors you mention here have little impact, if any, on whether you were speeding or not. So while you can try to bring them up when you're in court, I am not too optimistic that the court will feel that a fine reduction or a dismissal would be warranted as a result. But you can try...

The only other circumstance that happened that night (and the reason I was speeding), was a malfunctioning traffic light. I doubt the officer saw this, however, I do know the person that was directly in front of me at the light and he could attest to this. The light changed 4 times on the main road, and while the traffic continued to backup on the road I was on, the light for us never went green despite 4 red lights for the main road.
I'm not sure how a malfunctioning traffic light would cause you to exceed the posted limit by 13 miles per hour.
I am right 97% of the time... Who cares about the other 4%!
