Default Unlicensed Driver in an Accident

My question involves a traffic accident in the State of: California

I borrowed my fiance's car to run a short errand and accidentally bumped another car. There was minimal damage, but I'm wondering if either my fiance or I are gonna get in trouble when she reports the accident to the dmv or her insurance as I am unlicensed. What should we do?

It depends on what you mean by "bumped another car". Is the other vehicle owner aware that you bumped his/her vehicle or did you bump a parked vehicle? Did you exchange info with the other vehicle owner?

Her insurance is not likely to cover the claim due to the fact that you're unlicensed. So you and her maybe held liable to pay (out of pocket) for any related repairs.

yes, we exchanged information, there was a small scuff on his bumper, but he's claiming damage to his "bumper electronics" and saying that his 450lb+ passenger damaged his glove box somehow. It's all total bullshit, so is it completely out of the question to say my fiance was driving?

So his claim is "total bullshit" but your inquiry about whether you should commit "INSURANCE FRAUD" by lying about who was driving is NOT? All while the other party knows exactly who was driving (YOU GAVE THEM YOUR INFORMATION)???

    Seriously?????
