Default Appeal Court Employer No Show

My question involves unemployment benefits for the state of: Maryland

If employer doesn't show for appeals hearing how does that affect the claimant?

The state will make a determination based on the information they already have.

    Thanks for the reply PattyPA,

Does the information you refer to include the claimants evidence and information produced at the hearing without the employer being there? In you opinion what would your take of an employer non-show imply, if anything? Thanks

They either forgot (too bad, so sad) or decided not to bother presenting their case even further (for whatever reason). The hearing officer should take into consideration any evidence you presented. No-shows do not guarantee the claimant will prevail, but it does increase your chances. I've seen it go both ways.
