    Default Wage Garnishment

My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: Texas
I live in Florida and have just received a wage garnishment order from AAFES, and their creditor agency for correspondence is Dallas, Tx. It claims that I owe 10,037.78 yet in 2005, according to my three credit reports you will see that I supposedly have paid this (which I did, they took my taxes):
    Account: MILITARY STAR Type: Revolving

    Equifax I 05/1995 $6,500 $159 $0 12/2007 Transferred -
    Experian I 05/1995 $6,500 - - 12/2007 Paid -
    TransUnion I 05/1995 $6,500 - $0 01/2008 Transferred $0

I never received any judgment, court case, docket number....basically nothing. I know that I need to contact them for a debt validation letter, but what else can I do about this? They seemed to have tacked on a mysterious $3537.78 in the process too. Any advice is very welcome.
