Default Paid for Repairs, but Owner is Selling Car

My question involves vehicle registration or title in the state of: Maryland

My parents purchased a used car for me a few years ago, yet the title was still in their name the whole time I was using it (I was over 18 the entire time if it makes any difference). It had various problems, and over the years I paid for repairs totaling probably at least 2/3 of the initial purchase price of the car. I bought a new car, so now my parents want to sell my old car and keep all the money from the sale. Am I legally entitled to any of the money from the sale of the car? Do I own the parts that were installed when I paid for them for repairs, etc?

    Thank you in advance.

It's your car evidenced by your name being on the title. Unless there was some agreement for you to repay your parents, it was a gift and you can do whatever you want with your car.

Sorry about that, I just corrected a typo I made, the title was and still is in THEIR name, not mine. However there was an understanding that it was my car, ie everyone referred to it as mine, I was obligated to pay for repairs, etc. Does this make it my car and allow me to prevent them from selling it like theyre doing, or does the fact that they own the title trump anything else?

    Thanks.

Oh, that's a horse of a different color. It's their car then and they can do whatever they want to with it.

I was obligated to pay for repairs,
and? you were using it. Why shouldn't you pay for repairs? The repairs wouldn't be needed if you didn't drive it.

Your repairs were for your benefit so you could continue to drive the car.

Make it real simple; return the car in the exact same condition as when your parents bought it. I suspect those parts need to remain on the car to even come close to that condition.
