Fiancé Jailed for Back Child Support

Amendment VI

In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence.

Here is your "citation" - these rights are being violated. I am watching it! My fiance is being denied witness, and counsel for his defence. - he will be called to court unable to have witnesss present (this is how) They have not yet posted on the clerck of courts his court date. He will not be able to subpena witness to the fact that he is unable to pay his child support. ( to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor)

According to the Bill of Rights He can not afford a lawyer, therefore he should be appointed one. This is a civil suit, being treated as a criminal suit.

Call it what you want - criminals are locked up! Should we now start locking up people who owe credit card debt? That is civil!

Actually, I do. I have never not paid court-ordered child support. I have never been to jail for non-payment of child support. I have never neglected the needs of my children. Now, my nose isn't super-sparkly - but it sure is clean in that respect.

And I have never misinterpreted the US Constitution the way you're doing

Regardless - this is NOT the appropriate venue for your ranting, theresa. So please - either ask a RELEVANT legal question, or move on.

That is your mind set! or philosophy. Is your past an indication of your future? distressedmom? your name is not I hope! People change. I guess your past is perfect? You have never stolen anything, lied, cheated, made bad decisions, you have never missed the mark of perfection, huh? One day we will see about that in the highest of courts! With the judge that knows everything you ever did in your life. With out the right lawyer standing in your defence you will be judged guilty. Your probably distressed because you do not know what forgiveness is. You are probably harboring bitterness that may blind you from seeing good in anything or anybody. Mercy is the Word. You will need it one day too. I hope it is there for you.

I am not misrepresenting the constitution! Read it!! It is being misrepresented, but not by me. I have asked relevent legal questions, it has became very obvious - you dont have the answers. I am still waiting to hear how to go about a purge reduction, and the other answers are not even close to being right. Bribe the court with a 1000.00 dollars!! LOL Come on, you can do better than that, right? I am done here. Because it has become apparent to me, that most here are just wanta be lawyers that really dont have a clue.

Where did you get your law degree from anyway? You should go back to school again and brush up.

One more thing - Bribary is against the law.

your funny! I have two awsome children! You are the rude one. Could you imagine, going to a hearing and laying down a grande (with out proper paper work)? Have you done this? You did not tell me that there is legalities to this. Proper filing. You just cant walk into a court room and say hey - I have a grande, can you let him go?? First of all, this is not even that type of hearing!!! He is not there to ask for a purge reduction(which you have to file for - !! He is there to show that he does not have the ability to pay. He should be able to call witness, show evidence - they should have to prove he has money.

If you dont do it their way - it is bribery!

The courts are not extending reduction to anyone - they are saying basically, you have money, you owe it. 3000.00 down to 1000.00 and payments at this time - is not negotiable as far as the courts are concernd! I am so glad, I did not take your advice and asked someone who really knows.
