Speeding Ticket in Texas

My question involves a speeding ticket from the State of: Texas

I received a speeding ticket on Dec 31st. I called the number on the ticket frequently for the first 10 days as it is stated on the ticket to contact them within that time frame. Each time I called, they could not locate the ticket as the officer had not turned it in. I called today and they said that, since I called outside the 10-day period, I would have to pay the $215 ticket. I explained that I had called repeatedly during the time frame and even gave her the last date and time that I called, Jan 10th at 9:33am. She said that they received the ticket from the officer on January 10th and that I should have kept calling.

Any advice?

Your hope is to what - to contest the ticket, or to pay a lower fine?
