Unhappy Need Help w/ Nightmare Roommate (Who has a Dangerous Boyfriend)

My question involves a roommate in the State of: California (Pasadena specifically if that helps..)

The situation is as follows (sorry for length but complex):
Lease is up on an apartment shared by 3 roommates in 2 months or so from now...

Lots of bad things about "Nightmare Roommate" (which I'll refer to as "N.R.") so I'm trying to state only relevant facts...

Police have had to be called on more than one occasion for domestic disturbances because of "N.R." fighting with her boyfriend in the apartment (he has damaged the property, trashed her stuff, and hit her but she won't report it).

She has also brought/left her dog in the apartment numerous times (once for day) which is a big violation of the lease!
These things have been relayed to the landlord and "N.R." and she has been sternly (but non-threateningly) spoken to.

    My concerns:
Can I get kicked out as well? Does the landlord have legal clout to kick us all out? Should a move to get N.R. evicted be done before the lease is up? Obviously I want to kick N.R. out and find a new co-tenant when the time comes to renew but I'm afraid changing the locks won't be enough (suspect drug use/ criminal history but cannot prove) so should I/can I get a restraining order.

    Advice greatly appreciated...

If you're asking whether your landlord can decide not to renew your lease at the end of its term, even though the problem tenant was your roommate, yes, he can do that.

You can discuss with your landlord the possibility of leasing the premises on your own once the lease ends, or with one or more new roommates, but that leaves open the question of what you will do if your problem roommate refuses to leave. You may want to consider renting a different unit in the same complex, if possible.

    Thanks for your response.

I really want her gone and I don't want to lose the apartment. I guess all I can do is talk to the landlord and hope he lets us ditch her and find somebody new as you suggested.

    Thanks again.
