My question involves a child custody case from the State of: Minnesota
My ex and I have been divorced for 10 years and settled on joint custody. Through out the years we have fought a ton because he would always switch the schedule to make it convenient for him. It has gotten to the point that my daughter would cry every time she had to go back to her dad's and wanted to stay with me. After a huge fight and him forgetting to tell me that both him and his wife would be out of town, and leaving my daughter stranded on a 20 degree day, the week after thanksgiving he agreed that i could have her full time. He will take her the last weekend of the month. How do I get it switched and can we just sit down and fill out the papers without the lawyer part? and do we have to sit in front of a judge? or can we just fill out the papers and drop them off to be signed?
