Ex's Mom Threatening Report to DCF

My question here is...is it legal to threaten someone with dcf if you dont do what they say? This has happened more than once with my ex mother in law. she keeps telling me "if you dont do <said demand involving one of my other children not related to her> im going to call dcf on you. im not sure what i can do about this. help?

Unfortunately...there's really not an awful lot you can do to prevent someone from calling. Generally, such calls are anonymous and taking action against DCF is nigh on impossible.

With regards to threats, what you need to do quite honestly is ignore her. Do NOT give in to demands. Do NOT entertain threats. Simply go on with your life and don't let yourself be bullied like this!

this has been so horrible with her. its like the bottom line with her is you either do what i say or im calling dcf of you. ive tried to ignore her....she keeps calling/texting/showing up at my house. im really at my whits end and i dont know what to do. would this be considered harassment? all these threats i have documented in texts messages from her phone number.

honestly i have no idea. shes a very dominant person who thinks everything has to go her way and if she doesnt get her way this is what she does.
