Restraining Order Against Juvenille And/or Parent

My question involves restraining orders in the State of: California
I have the papers to file a restraining order against an ex-boyfriend of my daughter. She is 17 and he is 17. My question is can I file it on behalf of my daughter so I can do all the legal stuff and hearings for her, or does she have to do it on her own. Also do I have to serve it on the boys parent and him seperately or together or do I not serve his parent at all? Thank you. R

You can do this on behalf of your minor child.

You cannot serve the papers at all if you are a party to the order. An uninvolved party can serve it on the appropriate parties (usually the minor and/or the parents/guardians of the other minor). The court can likely answer that question if you get the order issued.
