    Default Hyphenating Child's Name

My question involves name change laws in the State of: Georgia.

When my child was born, he was named with my last name as his middle name and his father's last name as his last name. His father and I have since divorced. Could I hyphenate my child's name with his middle name (my current last name) and his last name?

Would I have to do that through the courts?

With Dad's permission (or permission from the court), absolutely!

It will have to be done through the court either way.
