I am the primary residential parent and live in Florida. Father moved to Texas less than a year after our divorce without employment to marry and be close to his parents. Prior to that we lived < 1 mile from each other. Our final judgement states that holidays are rotated and all school holidays are to be divided equally. When we lived close both were able to see the children frequently. Now that summer is here he wants is half of summer and wants to divide equally, but wants them residing in TX for 5 continual weeks. Is that typical? Becasue the final judgement states divided equally am I bound to the schedule he is requesting? I don't want to deny him time but I (and the children 9 &10) think 5 weeks is a long time to be away from home. He has also stated that anything they want to do ie: summer camp(overnight) or visiting my parents has to come out of my 5 weeks. I don't want them to miss out on things, but between visiting grandparents and summer camp my time with them this summer is <3 weeks. What can I do? Is there a more reasonable visitation expectation when one parent moves? Please assist. and yes I have tried to work with him on a revised visitation schedule but he won't budge from the above.
