Suing a School for Negligence After Sexual Assault of a Student

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Georgia.
My question is, can I file against the elementary school for criminal negligence after almost 10 years have passed? I would also like to file against the perps (also older children at the school) but Im not sure of the statue of limitations on either case. To be frank, there were many wittnesses due to this happenning on a school bus. The school knew about it, (a) child was suspended but returned after I entered middle school, not the main perp, just another boy who restrained me. They filed no criminal charges to my knowledge, they sent me off to my normal classes after a brief "meeting" and the school only wrote a report about the incident. I personally know a few witnesses who were older than me at the time. I was under 10 at the time.

You may be able to state a claim against the other students, depending upon your present age. Making a case against the school would be more complicated even if your action were timely. I suggest consulting a lawyer with the details of your case.
