Charged with Wrong Subsection for Traffic Ticket

i backed into a car by accident causing minimal damages and no injuries. when charged the cop messed up of the sub section and came to my house to change it. when the court date came up (i was found guilty) i paid my fine and i didnt think anything more of it. a couple weeks later i got a letter saying im being charged with careless driving resulting in serious bodily injury. when i went to the state representitive they got the cop who wrote up the ticket and he said he corrected it to just careless driving, and that the local magistrate was the one who changed it. i now have to deal with a suspended license because they charged me with the wrong subsection. is there a way i could fix this?
