Can Settlement Money from an Accident Case be Garnished by a Creditor

My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: WA. I had 5 years old settlement money from my wife's accident in my bank accounts and 6 monthly payments from social security as my retirement money. some collection agency has garnished all of my money from bank through default judgment. how can I get my money back. I have only couple days left to answer. I'M RETIRED low income Senior citizen. No money to hire a attorney. please HELP. THANK YOU.
