Want Son's Name Changed Without Father Knowing

My question involves name change laws in the State of: Canada

I have an 18month old son out of wedlock.My ex gave his last name on my sons birth certificate but didn't put in his own information as he didn't want anyone knowing that he has a son.I have sole custody of my son.
My question to you is that can i change my sons last name to my last name without the father knowing? If the last name is changed, is he still obligated to pay for child support?

I am also getting married next winter, is the birth father still suppose to pay for child support?
