Angry Son in Counseling and Not Telling His Dad

My husband's ex is constantly dragging him through the dirt. She puts his son in counseling and doesn't even tell him she did or what she put him in for. The counselor refuses to give his dad any info on why his own son is in counseling. The judge told her years ago that she was over protective. What are our options?

Also His ex refuses to let me the boys step-mom or his grandmother to pick him up for visitations. There is nothing in any paperwork signed by a judge that we can't pick him up. She had a lawyer write a letter saying that his grandmother can't pick him up. If it's not signed by a judge can she push the issue. Can she legally keep him from the visitations with his dad if I or his grandmother try to pick him up?

First, we need the name of your State.

Second, we need to know what Dad's custody and visitation agreement actually spells out.

Does Dad have joint legal custody?

We live in Arkansas. We have him every other weekend and 10 days during the summer.

The paperwork we have says that she is to "Notify the father of the child's activities, both church, school, or private activities or any medical treatment that the child needs so that said parent may attend and participate". He started counseling last week and we were notified today and she refused to tell us why she felt he needed counseling.

    So....Dad has been notified.

How about Dad goes along (not with you) next week?

Yes he has been notified a WEEK after the fact. And we still don't know why she has him seeing a counselor.

He can go without me I don't have a problem with that. There are times however that his dad has to work and can't be that at the specified time to pick him up. Then what? It's ok for his step-dad to drop him off and pick him up but it's not ok for me his step-mom. I don't understand the reasoning behind that.
