Buying Gold in Florida

Hi,
I recently opened a new store in Miami Florida however, I'm a little lost concerning the laws on buying gold from individuals. I would like to know if there are any certificates or Licenses needed to purchase gold from individuals.

If anyone can help it would be dearly appreciated.

Are you speaking of the laws regulating pawn shops? Those statutes are here. You should also verify local licensing requirements.

But I was actually refering to a small Jewelry store. Thus, I am inc. as a jewelry store but do not have any additional licenses. I've contacted the Better Business Bureau but was not lead to any specific department. I've also contacted SCORE which helps small businesses but have had no such luck. I only plan to purchase gold from individuals but do not plan to resell the used merchandise. In addition I would be purchasing outright and not in the manner in which a pawnshop does which allows individuals to buyback sold merchandise.

Never buy from a minor. Counties would try and set you up for a sting.

The statutes, then, which appear to govern your proposed business are those relating to second-hand dealers and metals recyclers.
