Default Drafting a Contract with a Contractor

My question involves Business Owners in the state of: NY

I've hired a freelancer/programmer to build a website. I need help to draft a contract to transfer the complete IP of the web app he's working on to me.

    Some facts:

He is a independent contractor living in the UK.
I'm 17 and lives in NY.
    I don't own a legal company.

Is there anything in particular I should watch out for?

I don't believe that you can legally enter INTO a contract at age 17.

I've heard that the contractor can just agree to transfer the IP with out having me to sign the contract, would that work?
