Does a Workers Comp Settlement Affect Social Security

My question involves workers compensation law for the state of: Virginia

I was injured 1 year ago with a L1 compression Fracture to the back. I have been offerd a settlement but they said I can't try to get Medicare/Medicaid for 30 month. I'm not old enough anyway but What does that mean and will this have any effect on Social Security.

Social Security is a separate program from Medicare or Medicaid, and whether or not you qualify for one will not necessarily affect your qualification for the other. (If you are on SSDI for two or more years, you should become Medicare-eligible.)
