Default Moving Out When Almost 18

If you were to be 18 in two months, and you are in a terrible situation with parents physically, verbally, and mentally abusing you, do you think that if I was to move out, and live with a very close friend of mine, that the cops would make me go back home, being that I would only have 2 months until I was 18? Just an opinion question... I am putting serious thought into this. I was talking to my friend abuot this tonight and they were telling me it would be great for me to live with them, and its a stable place to live, a nice enviorment, and a nice buncha people. They treat me VERY well.... Just needa a few opinions. Im confused as what to do.

Probably not, but you would have to check any local policies with the local police or a local family lawyer.
