What is Considered Neglect or Abandonment of My Children

My question involves child abuse or neglect in the State of: NY

Recently my parents and I went to court about them having temporary custody of my kids. They kicked me out of the house and a family court judge said that my kids were to stay at their house until we go back to court in November. Now my father is trying to file charges that I abandoned my kids even though him and his wife kicked me out, agreed that my kids could stay there until I got my own place, and were both present in court at the time of the ruling. My mother in-law also put in for temporary custody and that is the only reason why my father said he would take temporary custody. I was also told that my kids could come and stay with me at my in-laws for now but my father said once again no he would take them until court. So is this considered me abandoning my kids or not?

They can say and file whatever they please. The court has already said that the custody is temp and will be re-visited in November. No, no court is going to find abandonment to have occurred in the incredibly short time frames you're dealing with here.

thank you very much for your advice and that is what I thought but needed another opinion of my situation. I signed all of the papers giving them the right to take the kids to the doctors, gave them medical cards and everything else they would need until we go back in November.
